Lucy graduated in 1997 with a BA in Ceramic Design from the Crawford College of Art and Design Co. Cork, Ireland. In 1995 she graduated from the Crafts Council of Irelands Pottery Skills Course in Co. Kilkenny. In 1998 she returned to her home county Offaly where she began Lucy Ceramics, a production ceramics business supplying shops at home and abroad with large- scale decorative tableware. Lucy wound down the business in 2002/3 to pursue her interest in creating a more holistic way of working and living.
She has collaborated with many community groups on ceramic projects. She was selected to represent her county in the Irish TG4 television series Spleachadh. Private and public commissioning clients include Iarnrod Eireann and Waterways Ireland. She was chosen to be part of a Crafts Council of Ireland project, New Irish Ceramics- a Journey. In 2005 she was awarded a grant by the Offaly Co Council for the Assistance of New Work. Her work has been presented to Presidents Mary Robinson and Bill Clinton. She has completed a number of residencys at Cill Rialaig Artist Retreat in Kerry.
In 2018 Lucy received an MA in Ecopsychology. This is a trans-disciplinary MA that combines the ares of the Science and the Humanities. Her work now blends the areas of the Arts (Ceramics) with the Sciences and the Humanities in an endeavour to cultivate and encourage new ways of understanding, perceiving and celebrating our interconnections with the living word'.
